Looking through the ceiling, lying on the pleasantly cool bamboo bed, and enjoying the coolness of the summer evening breeze... I was trying to count how high is the moon?
That was a small piece of my sweet childhood memory. Grandma's house has a patio, in where fresh air, rain, wind, sunshine and skylight flowing into the inside space through the opening.
In Japanese architecture Yuusuke Karasawa's two-story cube house, the interior openings are so large and numerous that they essentially transform the house into one big room or a new style patio.
